Join Ava Wood for an unforgettable workshop focused on refining technique, elevating performance quality, and building the confidence to stand out every time you step onto the floor. Whether you're preparing for dance team season, auditions, competitions, or simply looking to grow as a performer, this workshop is designed to challenge and inspire dancers of all levels.
Throughout the session, dancers will work on:
Strong, clean jazz technique
Turns, leaps, and movement quality
Musicality and performance presence
Artistry and confidence
Learning a jazz/contemporary combination
What makes this experience truly special is the opportunity to learn directly from Ava—not only through movement, but through mentorship. Dancers will participate in a dedicated Q&A where Ava will share insights from her journey, answer questions, and offer advice on everything from competition preparation and confidence to pursuing big goals.
Ava's accomplishments include being crowned Miss Dance Team Minnesota, earning the title of Miss Dance Team World National Solo Champion, and joining the University of Minnesota Dance Team as an incoming rookie. She is passionate about encouraging the next generation of dancers and sharing the experiences that helped shape her success.
At MN Dance Athletics, we believe the greatest athletes don't just inspire through their accomplishments—they inspire by investing in others. This workshop is about more than learning choreography; it's about gaining the tools, confidence, and motivation to continue growing long after the music ends.

Time: 1-4PM, 4-5pm Advanced Training
Age: Grades 5th-12th
Cost: $65 (early bird registration through 7/15/2026)
Advanced Training Hour: $30
The final hour is designed for dancers who want to elevate their technical abilities. Ava will lead advanced progressions focused on turns, leaps, body control, transitions, movement quality, and musical interpretation. Dancers will break down the details that separate good performers from exceptional ones while learning how to attack choreography with greater confidence, control, and artistry.
