1:1 Mindset Training for Dancers
Helping dancers build confidence, resilience, and a stronger mindset both on and off the floor.
1:1 Mindset Training is designed for dancers who want support navigating the mental side of performance. While dancers spend countless hours developing their technique, many struggle with challenges such as self-doubt, comparison, perfectionism, fear of mistakes, performance anxiety, confidence, motivation, and handling setbacks.
Through individualized coaching conversations, dancers learn practical strategies to strengthen their mindset and develop habits that support long-term growth and success.
What a Typical Session May Include:
Identifying current challenges or obstacles
Setting personal, performance, or leadership goals
Building confidence and self-belief
Developing positive self-talk and mental routines
Learning how to manage pressure and nerves
Working through comparison and perfectionism
Creating strategies to stay motivated and focused
Reflecting on recent experiences, performances, or team dynamics
Celebrating progress and growth
Our Approach
Sessions are supportive, encouraging, and action-oriented. Rather than focusing solely on dance performance, we help dancers develop skills that can positively impact school, relationships, leadership opportunities, and everyday life.
Each session is tailored to the individual dancer's needs, age, goals, and experiences. Dancers leave with practical tools and action steps they can immediately apply in training, competition, and daily life.
Parent Information
Mindset Training is not therapy, counseling, psychological treatment, or a substitute for mental health services. MN Dance Athletics does not diagnose, treat, or provide clinical care for mental health conditions.
This program is best suited for dancers seeking mentorship, personal growth, confidence-building, leadership development, goal-setting support, and performance mindset strategies. If a dancer is experiencing significant emotional, behavioral, or mental health concerns, we encourage families to seek support from a licensed mental health professional.
Ideal For Dancers Who:
Want to build confidence
Struggle with self-doubt or overthinking
Compare themselves to teammates or competitors
Feel nervous before performances or tryouts
Want to improve focus and motivation
Are working toward leadership roles
Want support navigating challenges in a healthy and productive way
The goal of Mindset Training is simple: help dancers develop the confidence, resilience, and mental skills needed to become their best—both as performers and as people.
